Walking the grounds of Stramash

Wandering through the grounds of Stramash is an immersive experience in nature's classroom. Children explore this rich landscape, engaging in activities such as tending vegetable plots, playing in willow structures, and gathering around the campfire for snacks.   

The amazing thing about this location is that it started as a two acre field of grass.  Since the creation of this location in Fort William eleven years ago, they have planted over 3,000 trees.  Anything you see above knee height was planted by an instructor, a child or a parent.  It is pretty amazing that they literally grew this location from the ground up.  You can just envision what it will be like in 11 more year!

The leaders made sure as they planned, to include enhancements to site accessibility, ensuring all children can navigate and enjoy the environment.  They want all children to be able to learn in a natural environment.
