The Journey

 Hallo! That's German for hello!  Yes, I am acclimating very well, and yes, you should be impressed. The journey to Landau, the city where I begin my journey of Walkindergartens (that's Forest kindergartens in German-I know, so impressive) was quite uneventful, which is WUNDERBAR!  Other than spilling a full cup of coffee on myself on the plane, where I then spent the last 1.5 hours cold and wet and smelling of coffee.  Oddly enough, that was an added bonus to a 9 hour flight.  Catching the train was a breeze and I must say that I love that I can pretty much take a train anywhere I need to go.  I truly wish the US had a train system like this.  It is brilliant.  Below you will see a train stop on my way... it literally looks like any farm town in Indiana (of course minus the mountains).

The other thing I am impressed with is the readily available  HEALTHY food.  Rather than a burger and fries, or a bag of chips the options at the airport or train station are healthy sandwiches or great bread with this green stuff, I think they call it vegetables.  Oh yeah, and it cost only 3 Eros... WHAT?  Yes, I do wish we had healthier options at a decent price in the US.  But hey, we have peanut butter, so we have that going for us.

For dinner my host's husband made pissaladiere, a traditional French Pizza cookedon a wood burning oven. It was delicious! Laundau is on the boarder of France and at one time was located within the boundries of France.
