Hi! I am Dr. Tracey Hunter-Doniger. I am super energetic and absolutely believe in the power of the arts in education. I taught in public schools for 15 years and saw first hand how the arts can make a difference in student learning. As a Associate Professor, I strive to build the confidence of non-art preservice teachers in including the arts in their lessons.
I have also provided several professional development sessions for in-service teachers as well, including STEAM training, art infusion, the Forest Kindergartens, Art-Based Environmental Education, and the Reggio Approach.

This is a perfect book for preservice teachers or inservice teachers who are interested in bringing the arts to the general classroom, but don't know how to take the first step. The tone is intentionally written in a conversational tone to engage the reader.
I am very honored to say that Experiencing the Arts has been chosen as one of the 2018 Arts in Basic Curriculum Project professional development resources for the state of South Carolina. 72 ABC Project schools have been given a copy to aide in professional development in arts integration and arts infusion.
